Emily's inquiry started with "my parents met and got married in Franklin over 30 years ago and it still holds a special place in their heart." Hook, line and sink'er - I was ALL IN! Leading up to their surprise session, Emily and I chatted about her parents, their story to plan out their session at some of their most favorite and memorable places.

I was so giddy on the day of their session! It was the Friday before Franklin's "Dickens of a Christmas" festival and downtown was buzzing with holiday cheer. After exploring downtown, we drove a few blocks over to their first neighborhood. Stephen and Donna lived across the street from each other when they met - they showed me the houses they lived in, one of them being the house the shared together after they married. They shared a dance on their old street and talked about the sweet memories made there so many years ago. We soaked in the last bit of the day ending their session at Carnton Plantation - walking their gardens and soaking in their porches. Stephen taught me all about the witness tree on the grounds - the tree was rooted in 1847 and survived the Battle of Franklin in November 1864 - we included this beauty in many shots!

Stephen and Donna's session will forever be a core memory for me. I am so honored Emily asked me to document their love story and I hope their session encourages you to document your love story now and always! And if you need help doing so, you know how to find me! Enjoy some of my favorites from this sweet gallery - until next week, cheers friends!
